Tonight I plan to treck across Tampa Bay to St. Petersburg so that I can check out The Bank, where Saturday nights feature music from the ‘80s and ‘90s, with alt-rock, ska, and Brit-pop tunes to add some spice. This won’t my first time at the place, but the last time I was there the crowd was pretty thin. It was kind of a shame because the place is really neat. It was once an actual bank (hence, the name The Bank), and there are vaults in the walls that serve as a reminder of that. There’s a stage in the main room, a smaller lounge behind the stage and a pool room. There aren’t many dance clubs in St. Pete, so I think it’s great that this place is striving to be something different than just another bar. Tomorrow, I’ll post about my experience.
