Lately, I’ve noticed that some corporate restaurant chains have introduced half-price appetizers in the late evening. TGI Friday’s does it, and so does Applebee’s. I think there are others, too. Mix that with excellent draft beer specials, and you can enjoy an appetizer and drinks for two people for $10.
In Wesley Chapel, Applebee’s is one of few places to go for late-night dining and drinks. Fortunately, this place also has live music on Tuesdays, which makes it a great place to hang out if you want to see Darrell play some tunes on his guitar. Ask him, and he’ll play anything from Eric Clapton to Dave Matthews to Snoop Dogg. He also performs at Bennigan’s in New Tampa on Friday nights, in case Wesley Chapel is too far to drive on a Tuesday.
Darrell is fun to watch because he enjoys working the crowd. He’ll pick out people for song requests, and he’ll poke fun at you if you let him. If you ever get a chance to see him perform, be sure to ask him to play “Free Bird” for me.
